This is a sculptured canvas, created with a hosepipe, lots of water and a need to succeed.

I made two watercolour canvases from scratch. This is the one that I used to test all the different watercolour grounds that I made.

This piece of art is the result of washing off layer after layer of watercolour ground before I came up with the perfect recipe.

The stretching of the canvas came first, and the warping came second.

I could have scrapped the canvas and made a new one, but I decided to keep it and tell its story.

Snoop Frog would not be here if it were not for all the failures that came before him. He fits the canvas, and the warped canvas fits him. He would not be at home on a perfectly aligned canvas.

*Watercolour ground is a paste made from various ingredients that can be painted onto any surface to make it absorbent so that it holds watercolour paint.
