Goatzart

I’ve had an urge to paint with a more abstract flair, adding background elements, shapes, splashes, and fun.

For some reason, a blank piece of paper or canvas holds so much power. The power to instil a silent fear into the person holding the paintbrush, the power to make a person give up before they even start. There is nothing there. It is blank. How can that hold so much power?

I conquered my fear. ‘Don’t think, just paint, I told myself. That’s what I did, and what I still do.

Going more abstract and unleashing my need to splash and play with swirling paint led me to give myself another pep talk. ‘Don’t think, just paint.

Goatzart is where I currently want to be as an artist. I like the balance of abstract realism in this piece. It is satisfying.
